Hey-

Posted some stuff the last couple of days and it hasn't got answered, please please someobody help... WholeHyper told me if I order GC's with Tokico's I can only get a 2" drop. I have 18's on my car and was wondering if that was enough drop and if they are even right about this. I can get a 2.5" drop if I go with koni's but in reading forums the Tokico's are the best bet... Please someone respond....

I don't understand why you could only get a 2inch drop w/o GC coilover.

I can get a 2 inch drop with the Ground Control Coilover with the Tokico shocks, but I think I need to drop my car more than 2". I have 18's on my car and I want to close the wheel gap, get it closer to the ground and improve handling. But with only a 2 inch drop, it might not be enough. If I get the koni's with Ground Control, it enables a 3 inch drop but in reading the forums, I have heard really good things about the tokico's and I want those. So... my question is, will a 2 inch drop be enough and is it worth it to get the tokico's and sacrifice the ride height or should I go with the koni's cause those are good to? That is the deal. I don't know why the tokico's allow me only a 2 inch drop, that what wholehyper.com told me...

I've read several articles about Tokiko waranty not covered if you blow them, meaning gloing beyond 2". They should be ok for 2" drop. GC coilover lets u go lower, but u need shocks like KONI to go lower than 2". If u got the bucks, go with KONI.

Thanks... I picked the Koni's... they seemed like a better setup.

-Thanks

PS I will post picks once I get the car lowered

If you plan on dropping the car to the ground (well maybe not to the ground, but a decent amount) I would also suggest the DSM front upper mounts from ground-control if you get their coilovers. An extra $100 but it will give you a bit of travel back in your front suspension.

if you don't have enough suspension travel, the ride quality is going to suck big time and so is handling. a 2" drop on a 2G is pretty low, 3" will most likely leave you with like .5" to 1" of travel. if you want to go that low, get some "real" coilovers like Teins or JIC's

Teins would be more cost effective if you want to go lower than 2". Calculate the cost yourself.

Koni yellow shock set will cost at least 600 + GC coil-over for ~ 250. That's 850 compare to Teins set for $1000. It's better to go with a system since it's been tested out vs. different springs will not perform same with different shocks.

where to get GC for 250, I think cheapest I seen is 299. I was just giving numbers to compare to a cost for Teins kit :D

Just my 2 cents. I'd rather go for a set of Teins for $1k than GC+KONI for 900.

Try looking at www.autocarparts.com; they sell Koni shocks, used to be pretty decent price, maybe ~550 + get ur GC if u want to go that route.
