Hi folks,

I'm doing the math on spring rates for my '96 GST spyder, and I have tried searching but can't find the stock suspension travel distances for front/rear. Does anyone know the values for turbo manual spyders?

IF not, then how about 2g FWD manual turbos in general?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Ok... if nobody already knows, can anyone suggest a way to measure it?

I'm sure I can measure the amount of suspension travel from the weight of the car alone just by jacking up a corner and measuring the distance from the fender lip to the center of the wheel... but is there a way to measure how much farther the suspension can travel under full compression (like hitting a curb)?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Actually... here's a thought. I wouldn't be able to measure how much travel before coil bind, but if I were to put a zip-tie on the damper rod, and then remove the spring and simply just push the wheel up as high as it will go (appropriate jackstands and blocks of course), then at least I could measure how much travel before the bumpstops on a stock car.
