i asked the same question in the newbie forum, simply because i'm new, but thought i should ask it here as well. I have a 97 GSX, and I want to lower my car but without all the expensive stuff like, new shocks, springs, and chamber kit. Will it hurt my baby to just install some coilovers or a set of set springs and use the rest of the stock suspension. Will it blow my shocks or anything like that? Also, if i wanted to take it auto Xing, would i have to change it back to stock or would the aftermarket springs be fine(i only ask cause i heard it depends on how hard your drive it). I searched, and i founds some stuff, but not as direct as i need. Thanks for your help!

yes it will make your stock struts go out faster. its recommended that you change springs and struts at the same time, partly for the convenience of doing it at once instead of taking all that #### off again. if you want a better ride, get struts too. if you just want it to look good but ride like ass, get springs

i got my tokico performance handling package (blues with tokico springs) from optauto.com for 369 bucks. the springs are rated at a 1.5" drop
