Im changing the tq converter as i speak and im supposed to remove the upper ball joint bolts on both sides. I got the driver side off as easy as pie but the pass side one is a pain. I turn the nut to get it off and the bolt its attached to turns with it, thus making it impossible to take this nut off. I pushed up the ball joint rubber thing and it seems to be perfectly round so i cant put anything on it to stay put. If anyone can help itd be appreciated, i have EVERYTHING off to change my converter just this damned bolt wont let me take my pass axle off. thanks guys!:thumb:

Use an impact if you can. If that is not available put a wrench on it and give it a few solid blows with a mallet to jar it loose. Dont try to grab anything under the rubber boot. That surface needs to remain smooth or the ball joint will prematurely wear out.

To remove that nut you need to press the ball joint and upright together, so that the upright grips the tapered stud. You can use Vice Grips, a C clamp, or something like that, but you need to force them together. if you can, spray brake cleaner around the top of the stud where it enters the upright, to clean out any grease etc that would help the stud spin. Then it should come off.

If this fails you can also use a nut splitter or Dremel to cut the nut off - careful you don't damage the the threads on the stud. If you do damage them, replacement ball joints are available from NAPA.
