Brake Pads

Yo, yo, It's time for new brake pads and I was wondering what everyone's thoughts and experiences were with performance pads. I'm looking at EBC Greens and Axis MMs.

EBC's work for some others hate them. It's the same with any product I guess.

my opionion EBC worked great for me and stopped better and dusted less then when I had MM on before.

I have the EBC "Green Stuff" linings for the two piston calipers on a FWD Talon.

They were installed with brand new rotors, cleaned and properly finished. The linings were installed with anti-squeel compound, but without the anti-squeel shims and backing hardware that the stock linings would have. Extra care was taken to keep all parts clean.

The linings were broken in by a burnishing process: make repeated snubs from 60 mph down to about 30 mph, with about a 30 second cooling period between them.

So far, I like this lining material. No squeeling noise or any other harsh brake noises, no dust (the "Pep Boys" generic - catually Raybestos - made a harsh groan and had a heavy black dust characteristic) and an even light pedal feel. The linings dont grab on initial contact and there is little evidence of fade.

i dont know about axis, but i do know about ebc's because i'm on my second pair in a year.... yes i go through them fast. i have ebc reds in the front and greens in the rear because they dont make reds for the rear other wise i would use them. either way they work great i had them istalled on my aem big break kit. the pads are a little costly but i think they are well worth it. the reds (front) were $99.00 shipped and greens (rear) were $89.00 shipped
