I searched but could not find the right answer. Anyway, anybody knows if 3000 GT 18" factory rims would fit a 2G and if so, what size tires. I know the lug pattern and offset is fine but the stock tires (245 40 18) rubs on the inside arm. I'm mainly looking to see if anybody has actually done it. Thanks!

You realize that those wheels weigh 32# each, right? And that they have the rotational inertia of a small third-world country.

Anyway, they have the same offset as we do, so you can run 225s without a spacer as long as you stay with our diameter or less, which would mean a 225/40/18. Whether you can get away with 235/40/18 without a spacer is beyond me.

I never thought of the weight issue. Did not seem all that heavy compared to my 17 stockers but since I have one rim with no tire mounted then I'll go ahead and throw it on a scale. :thumb:

OE 17x6.5s weight 27#, give or take a little, depending on whether it's off an Eclipse or Talon. This might not seem like much or a difference, but keep in mind that the mean radius of the weight is about a half-inch lower, as well.
