hey guys i bought a 92 fwd talon and the shocks are through. i am tired of hitting a bump my car feels like a pogo stick and bottoming out. the car has eicach sportline springs, i know from what i hear they suck but they came on the car. the shocks that are on the car now are kyb gr2's. i dont want to buy kyb's again because the guy i bought the car from said they were brand new and these things suck. so what should i go with. thanks in advance for any replies.

actually i rather like my sportlines, i even have kyb agx's on mine. it's pretty stiff, a little too stiff for some, but i like it.

hey mavisky i see that you are from ft wayne. i am actually up in coldwater mi. at my parents house do you know anybody that can tune my car for me. i would be willing to drive down there if i have to, it's only an hour from here. so you like the agx's? i heard they blow out alot.

I've had my AGXs for about 2 years and they are still as stiff as when purchased. Never had any issues with them. Awesome shock.

some of the shops in detroit are pretty good, there's a shop down here called epp that has a nice 2wd dyno setup.

why dont you go with the jic setup it works food on fwd

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that he's not looking to spend $1500 on springs and shocks.

yeah pretty much, i have alot of go fast parts to buy too. i think i am going to try the agx's thanks mavisky

barry

no problem

fyi, i now have the suspension techniques rear swaybar and front and rear strut braces from megan racing and the car feels awesome even with the shitty winter tires and rims on.

After spending hours upon hours of reading up on 1G suspension parts my vote is for the Koni Yellows- shorter shock body length for lowering and very good performance and comfort. I regret everyday that I went with my AGXs.

No shit! I had Koni Yellow on my old 1G and loved it.
Dennis Grant has been tossing out a few nuggets about his dyno testing of shocks and reports that the Yellow Konis are beat out only by Real race equipment like Penske

What I mean is that I've ran KYB GR-2, AGX, and Illumina and regret it.
Yellow Koni is far and away the best pick and if you don't buy Koni, you'll wish you did everytime you drive the car.

I hate my front AGXs. I will be getting Koni Yellows for the front and retaining the rear AGXs. :thumb:

Where did you guys get your KONI-Yellows?

RRE has a good little setup for 1g's. If I had actually payed for my shocks I'd have gone with their setup, but since I got it for christmas I can't complain.

I have B & G springs for my 1g gsx but if i installed them they would be on my stock shocks... should i install them anyways until i get some shocks or should i wait forever and save up for a nice coilover suspension?
