which would be a better ride with the pro kit? the car is a daily driver on 18" inch wheels. the car is occasionally auto x'd. im looking for something stiff and great all around. i have heard that most go with the kyb/ pro kit set up, but i am currious as to why.

Koni sports (yellow) and pro-kits. The AGX's and Illuminas don't have enough travel. Some people may say that those shocks work fine for them but they haven't tried Koni's.

I have the AGX's with the Prokits and I like them. And you are right, I have not tried the Koni's because I don't have enough money for that setup. But for me, since I only drag race once in a blue moon and never AutoX or anything like that, the setup feels fine to me. Also, if you do get the AGX's, make sure you get the newer front shocks because they fixed the shock length problem and they are now at most as long as stock. If you are wondering, the new part # for the front shocks are 741042.

Seems like from everything ive read and experinced personally Illuminas are a great shock for our car. However, the koni yellows are the best for drops over a inch or so because of there shorter shock length and other factors. I would choose illuminas over AGX's though.

You can get illuminas new on ebay for around 330 to 370 shipped. Seems like the konis always went for $600-750 at most places.

i also cant afford to purchase the koni yellows. which of the two would u personally reccommend, or are they both equal? i am also leaning toward the tokico's, possibly even buying the shock and strut combo, and sell the pro kit springs, if i like the tokico ones. thanks for your replies, and the info on the new part # for the kyb's.

Hey guys, do they make Illumnia's for a 1g awd?? I really want the prokit and tokico setup but can't find them for a 1g. Thanks for the space, kyle

Thanks for the reply, I figured if I hadn't seen them yet that they don't exsist for the 1g's. Does anyone have a before and after pic of their car with the prokit installed??

well i found a great deal on the koni's and the illuminas. what makes the koni's so much better then the illuminas? i wont really be auto xing the car, well maybe a few times a year. im looking for great ride quality and handleing. to sum it up, explain to me why i should put up the extra dollars or why i shouldnt.

Of course I too am not made of money so I can only give my opinion of the setup I own, because I haven't changed it out to try others. I have the Illuminas and prokit, I love it. If you set them all to 1 the ride is basicly stock feeling even though it's lowered, and there is a noticable difference when you put them on 5, it's much harder but still rides comfortable. I leave mine on 5. When I was in the market for this Tokico hadn't come out with the combe yet, KYB still had their housing legnth problem, and I couldn't afford the Koni's. As for the pics the first one below is stock height and the second one is with the pro kits.

Koni's have a lifetime warranty (to the original owner) and they're rebuildable. I believe they're adjustable for rebound only, not both rebound and compression like most adjustable shocks.

so what would be better ? just adjustment for only rebound and not both compression and rebound? right now im still leaning towards the tokico.
