Ive been having alot of trubble with torque steer and noticed my rear shocks are weak..Could this cause this? What i mean is when I launch im all over road..

torque steer is due to unequal length cv axles, even if you did replace your shocks you are still going to have torque steer. Only way to really correct torque steer is to have equal legth half shafts/cv axles

ok im just tired of not being able 2 controll car..and how do u get equall lenth?

Torque steer because weak rear shocks? how can that be? the motor isn't sending any power to the rear wheels.

A limited slip differential will help reduce torque steer. When one wheel starts to spin the differential starts to lock and distribute power evenly between the two wheels.

torque steer not wheel hop!the front of car goes way up but both tires still grab but my rear end goes way down and my steering wheel goes side 2 side cant keep it in middle ill jus have my front end looked at..tx all

I jus looked under car and both cvs are bad and my sway bar bushings need replaced so ill do that and see if it cures my problem

just found phatOMGrip web site..any cheeper than $300 and is there a tech article that shows how 2 install?

2 all that have doubted..Bad shocks will cause torque steer!I had my car checked out at a place that sets up race suspensions..All my stuff is good exept my shocks..If ur shocks cant keep ur tires planted 2 the ground u will loose controll of car..like i did..ok im done!LOL

You said "rear shocks" in your post. Your car is a FWD is it not? The rear tires are just along for the ride... no way it could cause torque steer.

You never explained what the car was doing. You simply assume it was "torque steer".

Regardless of shocks or suspension setup... all FWD cars with an open differential will torque steer. Torque steer is the result of the open differential sending power unevenly to the two drive wheels... one with more power than the other causing the car to steer. Hence, torque steer.

ok im not going into a flame war or supin..if the rear of the car lets the front of the car rise up as in bad shocks u will not b able 2 control car as good as w good shocks..the way u are explaining is wheel hop..i dont have a prob w that..i have a problem w keeping car strait as i launch..im done whith this thread..tx for all who have helped me:thumb:

Blown struts can cause torque steer. For instance, If the LF strut is good and the RF is blown the car will lean to one side during acceleration, causing camber changes leading to a pull.
