Matrix or Arospeed Coil-Overs????

I use Maxspeed coilovers and have had great luck with them. Been on them on stock shocks for over a year now with no problems. They are about the same price as those two you mentioned.

-It depend on what you want the C/O for, if you just want some C/O, I suppost they are ok, but if you want to do some autoX type driving, then you might want to invest into a better set up. I'm currently using a kit from DiamondStarSpecialty, the spring rate of 375 lbs(front) 350 lbs(rear) mate with AGX. my $.02

Based on the two brands he's mentioned I doubt he has anywhere close to $1000 or even $800 to spend on suspension parts. I'd suggest getting the Maxspeeds and camber kits and an alignment once it's all installed. Very inexpensive and good way to lower your car.

Tom is right i dont have money for that...if i had the money still wouldnt get them....i just want to drop my car and be able to raise it up and down..(BLITZ body kit) there are ALOT ALOT ALOT of hills here where i live....but i want some coilovers that arent that expensive and that are good.....do the Maxspeed make alot of noise??

On my car they had a light rattle in the front two but no spring noise at all. I fixed it with some foam in between the spring and the top hat. Ride is great, I'd recommend them.

-You might want to try wrapping some teflon tape around the strut body so the sleeve doesn't hit the strut.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PLEASE NOOOOOOO!!! If your gonna spend the money do it right. But then again if your just dropping it for RICE then be my guest. I use the tein HA

I have the Maxspeed coilovers also. the consensus (from people who have them) is that they are the best "budget" coilover. the construction is very similar to that of the Skunk2's. i found the rear springs to be quite stiff (too stiff), so i replaced them with a pair with a lower spring rate. other than that, i've had no problems with them. they did rattle a lot at first, but i cut the bushing/metal sleeve that goes around the top of the strut rod (above the spring cap), and that stopped the rattling completely

i have matrix co's and they are stiff but it makes for better fwd grip, no complaints about them so far had them for 6 months now.

Maxspeed Coilovers- I have not had any experience with the maxspeed coilovers. I heard somewhere that you have to hack off the perch on the strut to make them work, dont know if there is any truth behind this.

Matrix coilovers- I bought some of these on dsmtrader for $80. (Mental Note-You get what you pay for) I got them and they sucked. Construction looked really crappy. I was going to go ahead and install them just for kicks while I saved for the tein. I went to install them and the spring diameter would not fit over the dust sleave for the stock shock. After examining the box further i noticed that it had four shipping labels on it with different names, where people had just kept putting them back on dsmtrader. Maybe they were the wrong parts inside but the box said 95-99 eclipse. I did the dsm community favor and donated them to the big metal truck that picks up my garbage 2 days a week.

So yea, I would not recommend the Matrix coilovers. I got tein now and Im happy. But yea I think best bang for the buck is the maxspeed, its built to ISO standards.

Peace,
The most evil of all the monkies.
