2G Talon Tsi 450AWHP Build. First DSM
1995 Eagle Talon Tsi
Actual Miles - Unknown
Picked this shabby guy up for 2,000. A friend of mine owned it in highschool and it wound up being sold to a few people here and there and I wound up with it.
Current mods:
Suspension:
Megan Racing Coilover System
Trans:
Shep Stage 3 transmission
Interior:
stock....trashed... need new seats and carpet
Plan:
Plan was to do a 6bolt swap, but the eagle/wiseco shortblock I bought from a friend wound up having cracks in the sideskirts for the pistons......so not happy about that even thought I was gonna sell the wisecos anyways. Would swap the TD05H out for a Master Power super 60 turbo....46AR hotside lol, and then eventually upgrade to an hx35/hx40 if possible
As of now i have not purchased anything for the car aside from the master power turbo, and built short block/spare 7bolt head. Enjoy the pictures!
Future Mods list:
DSM link V3
Innovative LC1 wideband
new clutch disc(already have a 2600 installed)
rebuild the 6bolt block with eagle rods/ross pistons
7bolt head onto 6bolt block swap
VRSF Short route kit
reinstall the A/C.....guys gotta defog the windows here in ohio.
FP t3 manifold
HX35
Comments/Criticism welcome!
**yes i know the rims are different, the front set was a full set but that back tires are flat, so I got a spare 2 rims/tires just to keep the rims safe.
disgusting interior... found 2 rats nests and smells of piss....
Tore off the nasty aftermarket fiberglass sideskirts that came on the car....was held on with multiple drywall screws with shit ton of bondo....
owner threw in a high rise wing for free..but I think im gonna do wing-less.
brand new HKS 264/264 cams for free! might sell these for delta 272's

That last pic kinda makes it look like a supra with the kit still on however I put my vote as wingless if stocker skirts are going back on. Lots of work cut out for this project. Good luck

yes stocker skirts are going on. Ive already ripped(literally) the fiberglass skirts off. they hung wayyy to low and were damaged bad. And also held on with drywall screws.
I really like the wingless look, but that high rise looks so sexy. I will more than likely keep it wingless since I refuse to change the rear bumper/lights...and probably front bumper as well.
Update for today:
No pics sorry
But the oil/antifreeze are drained, intake piping is pulled, TD05H is pulled, has some pretty bad shaft play both in and out and axis based play.

Got some more done today even though I was on limited time. Exhaust and intake manifold are pulled, the wiring is a mess on this car so I will be deleting alot of it. The previous owner said the head was ported, but damn I did not know it was this ported.
Im hoping to have the head off sometime next week on my next day off, after that its saving for DSM link, manley pistons, bearings, machine work, and more goodies!
Cool fact, this head was built just 1500 miles ago when the megan coilovers were put on. I think ill stick my HKS 264 cams in here and see how they work on a ported head
for some reason the camera keeps tinting everything with a bronze color. The head is actually perfect, no brown/rust coloration or residue.

Im actually going wingless lol. In the process of rebuilding the 16G to get rid of and start tearing everything apart.
Dropped the 6bolt block off at the machine shop, gonna have it checked out. The car is down to being at TDC and I need to pull the harmonic balancer to go any further. After that the head is coming off and then pulling the short block to sell and pick up my Manley pistons!
Sorry for no pics, I have absolutely no idea where my camera is lol

Right now the car has the OEM 2G cast manifold which had the EvoIII 16G on it. I am currently rebuilding the 16G but will not use it. I will be using a Master power 60trim that uses a T3 housing. So Im gonna find me a T3 style manifold soon.
I have been toying around with the wing, I love the wingless look but that high rise has me bitten bad lol. I am gonna hang onto both wings and decide which one I like once I can get the car out and rolling around with a running motor. Ill just tape it on and park it a few places around the yard and street to see how it looks.
Ive got thursday off, hoping to hear from the machine shop about my 6bolt block. After that Im gonna try and get the head off and make sure its good. Then BODYWORK!

Lol there are a lot of people that want that wing. But Im going to try it on tomorrow and see.
As far as the 60 trim goes, Ive been debating running it. Its such a small A/R. I was really hoping to already have an HX35/40 in my hands by now but the search for one is painful....either ruined or $500+ that needs rebuilt

Well I'm planning my build out right now, and think I've settled on a 50trim of some sort. I've been talking to one of moderaters who hit 403whp on the stock block and head running a 50 trim. I have about 7 pages of.info I've been writing down just planning out the build. I'm also looking for around 400hp to the wheels, so if you want any info i'll be glad to let you in.

Looks like you got a nice project on your hands bro! and IMHO i think the 2gb talon wingless looks awesome! and one thing i can never under stand is how these cars get so trashed?? I mean i love a good rebuild but its a shame how these cars get so messed up and ruined.. idk how it happens its not like there exaclty cheap cars when they were new they were 20k plus and have so much potential! why must kids ruin them.. Atleast your gonna make it beautiful again tho!

very true i personally know a couple kids in town with complete shit box's but they love them to death i just cant get it past me how you can just completely trash a car like these though it does nothing but hurt how the car looks and kills the value

The original owner of the car is a friend of mine, we went to highschool together. And during his courses at Wyotech University he didnt really clean it lol. The car always had tools in it, clothes, and just dirty.
Im the same way as far as having trashed cars, I just dont understand how people can ruin them....my DD is an old honda hatchback, rebuilt title, bodywork is a bit rough with fiberglass patch. But the interior is spotless. Nearly showroom floor quality with a little bit of wear.

Look on the pick up forums. I picked up a working 6 blade hx40 for $150 and a working hx35 last week for $165. Then of course you have to buy an turbin housing if you dont wanna use the stock one.

Exactly when you have a car that you bought new literally all you ahve to do it wash it and sweep the interior out and it will look brand new forever minus normal wear and tear lol and ya thats cool that you have a honda as a DD all that matters on a car that isnt the one you care about is that the interior that you sit in is nice thats all that would matter to me a personal pet peeve of mine is dirty grimy interior it makes me sick if my friends is dirty ill clean it myself haha

Yeah Im up in Ohio, it shouldnt honestly be that hard for me to get one around here...TONS of farm boys trying to upgrade from the HX turbos to 70trims for truck pulls....and its a farming area where I live.
I got some free time after work this afternoon so I looked some more at the wing situation and decided to give the high rise a try. So on my day off monday I will be drilling and mounting the high rise wing and fiberglassing the holes up for the pre-existing solar wing.
Oh and I found this today...crawled under the car to pull the downpipe off....and saw the wonderful cause of raised floorboards.....
fantastic.
All of the fuel lines are even bent....So now I have to wonder if this car has ever been wrecked.....looks like I have no choice but to upgrade to -6 AN line now

The car could of been improperly lifted. They put the jack under the soft metal and keep jacking up the car causing the floor to lift.

Yeah now Im puzzled as to how I can get the floorboards back down so that the underbody can be re-welded
Small update:
The greddy FMIC is gone along with all of the pipe for it. Traded it for $100, LSD Rearend, transfer case for a 2G, and a set of 450cc injectors. So not too bad. Ill be shopping for a new Mitshumoto FMIC with short route pipe, Ill be sure to keep you all updated!
Soon to come:
Monday/Tuesday are my days off this week, so I am going to do my best to get the high rise wing mounted, do some sand blasting, and get to sanding the entire body. Im waiting to hear back from a family friend about a transmission jack for $200 so hopefully I have my shep trans out soon and can get the block pulled!
