Tranny case melted, need new tranny

OK, so I was told that when my crappy ass stock clutch blew, that the throw out bearing also siezed, and basically melted the tranny case.

In other words, i need a new tranny now. This has been the nightmare story of buying a used car. The guy at the dealership said that it looked like there might have been water damage to it, cause the bolts on the tranny were rusted/hard to remove? But I called the guys at the place where I got the used car check done, and they said that there wasn't any evidence of water damage.

I told the dealership to look into warranty on the tranny, cause it is a stock tranny. Sounds like a deffective one to me.

Anyway, I need a new tranny, and need suggestions on a good one that won't self destruct on me.

What do you guys recommend? Is there any companies that make tranny's for a 1999 GSX???

Sorry for the long post, I'm just a little flustered right now, I just got off the phone with the dealership about a half hour ago.

Try TRE or SHEPRACING. I'm getting a new tranny put in from mitsu right now and tomorrow when I get it back with the cost of new tranny and clutch assembly its $3,200. TRE has a new tranny that is modified to hold 400 HP for $2400. I would have gotten that but the loan I got is for the factory only but I fought my ass off for the TRE. O well.

why pay 2400 for a tranny to hold 400hp when people have run low 11s on the stock tranny?

because he said he needed a new tranny and a new stock from mitsu is 2100 so why not spend the little extra to get a built one.
