I'm not a DSM owner but I have a friend who has a 94 Eclipse GS and 90 GSX. His 94 eclipse is automatic and he wants to convert it to manual, we have all the parts and everything I'm just worried about one little problem. How will he be able to start his car? with or without a clutch? because his car does not have the connectors for the clutch pedal sensor, and when I disconnected a sensor on my manual Z I couldn't start the car with or without the clutch pedal. We are really stumped on this, everything else looks to be easy.

Thanks for any help

u can disconnect that sensor(clutch safty switch) so u can start a 5 speed dsm without pushing in the clutch, so i doubt it will be a problem, my feidns has it disconnected on his 2g, starts without any truble and without puhing the clutch in

im planing on disconnecting it on my car and wiring it to a button on the dash, ur friend should probally do the same, since his 1g has a un-used dash button just like mine, if u completly disconnect it u will probally have to close the circuit of the switch, so to the ecu or whatever that switch sends a signal to it will seem like the clutch is always pushed in, so it will start trouble free
