I think I bought a 1st gen tranny. Will it work in my 2nd Gen?

I asked a while ago and I was responded with a yes. But I just happened to notice he has a 1st gen. Will it work? My service manual calls for: F5M33
If you can help I REALLY appreciate it.

One last thing. Anyone know where I can get info on a rebuild kit?
Thanks for any help. This is pretty important to me.

The 2G cars have a 24 slpine transfer case, the 1G trannies have a 22 or 23 spline transfer case. They will not interchange without changing the transfer case.

when I thought about gatting the "jdm" tranny that you can switch between awd and fwd I was told that becasue the 1g tranny wouldnt work due to the motor mounts that are on the 2g tranny the 1g doesnt have them apparently. I have never looked at a 1g tranny, thats just what I was told.

A 1G tranny of any kind will not fit into a 2G of any kind. The internals will swap over, however the outer casing is different between the two due to mount locations since the two body styles are different. Your best bet is to sell it and get the right tranny you need.
