Ok i bought a used trans for 125 bucks off a wrecked car. We put it in and i ran it for about 3 weeks until i blew the motor. Anyways while it was running the trans would grind in reverse and wouldnt stay in reverse and when i would hold it in reverse and shift to first while rolling it would grind. I couldnt shift from reverse to first while rolling i would have to stop completely for it not to grind. Ive heard to adjust the shifter linkages but we tried that. What else could it be? Could it be my clutch wearing out? Help me guys i need it.

Probably worn internalls if you got it for 125bucks you got a good deal but you should get it rebuilt with new synchros and all other worn parts! I am in desperate need of a tranny, because when my first one blew up due to wear and overfilled the oil in it and then we had to litterally rip it apart with a grinder, because of excessive heat it welded itself together, just to get out the Drive housing for the cv it was also welded by the heat! Then I put my new tranny in I got from a wreck yard that was sitting in front of the engineless talon and I put in, filled her with synthetic gear oil and only three months later It started to leak, so i noticed a good sized hole in the bellhousing and a large hole in the backplate, I had a spare backplate and covered the hole in the bellhousing and put oil in her again looked good until I was leaving my driveway the next morning and saw a nice trail of oil up and down it! I continued to drive even with it leaking until it blew up in front of Crappy Tire! Thank god for a.m.a. LOL sigh! The moral of the story be aware of wear dsm trannys take abuse but only for so long! Check out bmtranny.com and teamrip.com they are the two best tranny rebuilders Ive seen and reasoneable rates, plus they can go the extra mile to build it to your need!
