Hello, I got this tranny installed after mine took a dump on me. The tranny shop got this one from Cali and had to change the shifter input shafts and removed the counter weight.

My question now is what car is this tranny from. I have found 2 answers EVOIII or RVR (mini van).

Now the tranny does have a little bit more noise to it in fowards, and doesn't like to grind, and loves abuse a little. What was different with these trannys.

Thanks for your help.

Tranny Model Number: W5M33-2MMZL
Serial Number: TV3638

maybe the serial number from the donor car can be looked up to find what car it came out of.

Im stuck in the same place... i have no idea what the mmzl stands for or if it will even mate properly with the rear diff. i have the US spec crownwheel and pinion but dont know if i should get it installed or not.

Ok, So I blew up my stock 6bolt and I'm rebuilding the motor.

I decided to check my tranny to see if it was the correct year with correct gearing.

I followed the video on youtube from jackstransmission and he says to spin the tranny 5 times the marks should line up this will tell you that you have a late 2g tranny.

Went I did the test in the video above I had to make 10 revolutions to match my marks back up so I would guess its the wrong gearing for the car.

Now this tranny has been in my car for 10k miles and I'm worried about other damages to drive train parts.

Also what should be my path to fixing this problem? Rebuild? By who? What parts and I am going to need to replace inside. Whats this gonna cost etc.

I had posted the question of where this tranny was from on a few other forums. This was what I got.
