Its clutch time, new options

Ok first off I am NOT putting any ACT product in my car, after it completly destroyed my Galant last year I will never ever put another one in.

As some background info I have a 97 GST Spyder that will eventually end up with a B16G and some goodies.

That being said ive been looking around at this and that, looked at the Exedy clutches and there pressure plates are weak 1800lbs. Ive looked at Slowboy's clutches but never really saw any feedback about them.

Fidanza has a new clutch out but ive also not heard anything about them, they have a Carbon/Kevlar faces disk which appeals slighty to me. I would go Clutchmaster all in all if I wanted to spend them money, but its just not there, and there is also Centerforce which has been the one I have been thinking the most about.

Basically would like some opinions on what people are running, not ACT clutches. Thanks!

I currently have a Competition Clutches Ironman in one of my cars...It's a great clutch it you don't mind a heavy pedal. It will hold pretty much anything you can throw at it.

How did a clutch destroy your galant?

to be honest im not exactly sure what happend, i do know for a fact the throwout bearing shattered and got places it wasnt supposed to be...i was able to see the tranny move when you pushed the clutch after....i never tore it completly back down though.

What did you pay for your clutch?

I got mine for cheap, but i think the cost is pretty much the same as an equivalent ACT setup.

If you don't want ACT, I would say either the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch or SBR 3500.

For the money you can't beat it.

Will hold up to what you plan on. Very little chatter.
