OK..
Here's my story.
I got a 1G AWD and the tranny was built 4 months ago, but I bought the car 2 weeks ago.
I can tell the tranny is new and I have the warranty papers for it.
I also got a brand new transfer case in it.
My problem is the clutch...the guy said it's a brand new stock specs clutch.
The car has also some weired no name brand short t. shifter in it.
The clutch engages very low..like close to the floor, and when I put it in 1st it goes in perfect. Once I wanna shift in 2nd it will go into gear just half way?? and pretty much same thing with all other gears...and R is a PIA to get it in and out.
IF I press the clutch parked and go thru gears without releasing it..it will go in all gears just fine and all the way....once I start moving the shifter will only go like half way in gears??? except 1st? because it's when I start moving...pretty messed up!!?
NOW the other problem...my clutch seems lazy?? LIke shifting at higer rpms 3k+ it seems that the clutch feels like it's sticking or something..and can't keep up with my shifting??
NOTE: My clutch pedal on my GSX seems 10x easier efort to push it in..almost like no effort but it's not sticking on the floor though...my GST had a awesome clutch.
I chked the master cyl, slave, and lines...no leaks or nothing..
I'm really confused...it's either my crapy shifter or my clutch....or both..beucase the clutch just doesn't feel right to me at all..
Any feedback and sugestions will be grately apreciated.
PS: My car is bone stock, 90k miles, everythign original on it except the shifter?
I just want to chk and fix everythign before I starting mooding it...

thx

Check the specs on your clutch pedal assembly. These specs are for a 2g, so I dont know if it is the same but I would imagine its close.

clutch pedal height= 7.0-7.1 in
clevis pin play= .04-.12 in
free play= .24-.51 in
Distance from firewall to to clutch pedal when fully disengaged= 2.76 in or more

Also have someone sit in the car while you look where the tranny and motor connect(under the car). Have them push in the clutch pedal and see if the tranny is moving away from the motor.
