Transfer Case for a 93 TSI Compatiable with 2g Transfer Cases?

As long as the spline counts are the same it will bolt up. I can't remember if there's a gear ratio difference in the Automatics from the Manual so you better make sure they're the same too.

Outer casing is same for 1g 2g. (early 1g came with an aluminum gear housing)
All 2g's have 23splines, 1g came with 22~23 depending on make year.
Auto and manual t-case are different both in shape and gear ratio.
1g& early2g(-'96) have different gear ratio compared to '97-'99.

I think that sums it up. The 2g tcase will bolt on but only the pre '96 will work without loading your center diff.
