Ok, I'm on a very tight budget and I need a clutch. A stock replacement clutch that the previous owner installed is starting to slip. I've been looking at the ACT 2100 kit but I do NOT have that kind of money to spend. So this brings me to the title of this thread. . I have heard a little bit about some guys running a ACT 6 puck disc on the stock pressure plate. I'm wondering if that would work, for a while not for ever. How much horse power would that hold? Cus I shouldn't be hitting anything above 300 any time soon and I just need something to get me by till I get some good cash flow. Don't laugh at me. I'm a 16 yr old who works at Taco Bell, I can't afford a quality clutch. But I need something that will work for a while.

Please don't flame me,
Andrew

Hell yes it will work. I'm doing the same thing. Now.. I haven't installed mine yet but I had a nice long conversation with the man who builds these up here in Alaska. A puck clutch is not meant to be slipped, you'll burn the hell out of your flywheel, however.. I wouldn't worry about the clutch.. I'd worry about the other stuff.

Here's what I got... and it's not the "ACT" 6 puck, it's still kevlar though..

I don't know what your time frame is.. I should have this installed by the 22nd.

I've got enough mods to let you know for sure how well this clutch works.

Driveablility issues anyone???

Plenty of Wisconsin guys use or have used "the PNAD" clutch. Stock plate, ACT 6-puck. Doesn't get much cheaper than that.
