I totalled my '90 Laser RS-T 5 speed last month and have been shopping for a DSM since. The prices are still up there (1500 and up on average) since I bought the last one in 2003
Yesterday I picked a '92 laser with a bad A/T tranny and a possibly blown HG (overheating) for $300. The body and the interior are decent.
Should I go for it or it is better to junk that car and look for another one? I want a clear idea of how really hard it is and what is involved. I 'm not a superman as far as fabrication skills are concerned. I don't have a welder or other hard core equipment. I still have an old car that can serve as the parts donor and I have a '92 spare tranny that I was gonna build up for that car as well. I searched and got mixed opinions. Thanks in advance.
