All I have is $200 to spend on a clutch. Is a stock clutch all as bad as they say it is?

Just put that money aside until you get a couple more hundreded for a clutch. You will kick yourself if you get a stock clutch. You already saved up 200 whats 200 more?

The $200.00 I have is on a credit card and it won't let me purchase anything more than that. Is there anyway to pay half w/credit card and the other half w/cash?

Well if you want to go the cheap route buy a stock clutch from autozone for $140 with a lifetime warantee, then you can burn it up as many times as you want :thumb: and never pay another dime! Thats if you can change it yourself. However if your making alot of power just save save save and buy something that will last.

A stock clutch is good for 80,000-100,000 miles. What do you plan on doing with your car?

You don't own a racer, because just like the rest of us, you can't afford it. Live with it.

This is the only clutch I know of that you can get for $200.

They're extremely good at getting you your order, but I've eaten through a couple of their clutches. I gave up and switched to an ACT clutch finally after the last one left me stranded.

Depending on your plans for the car, don't skimp out on the clutch. How bad is your clutch now? Can you make it last until you get enough money for a good one?

you can get a clutch from carquest for $153.00 it is not oem it is a little better. that is the cheapest clutch that i know of. not sure about warrenty thought. the lifetime one from autozone sound good though. i would buy that and use as many as need be, then when you get the money go exchange the clutch for a new one again, then sell the brand new one to someone who needs it :D

just my .2

Thats my plan right now man, only this time I think Im gonna go with centerforce

Thats why I love Autozone, they offer a lifetime warantee on everything and its still often cheaper than other shops. :thumb: :thumb:

Since you're on the eastern half of the US you should look into advance auto parts. I have both advance and autozone and 90% of the time advanced is cheaper on the same or better quality part, plus they stock ngk plugs :)

you can check all their prices online at www.advanceautoparts.com , I also worked for them for a little over year and they were really good at stocking parts you needed and being helpful.

Here's advance's best price

Perfection Hytest MU477351
New; 4 Piece Set; Contains Disc, Pressure Plate, Throw-out Bearing & Alignment Tool; Cover Type: Diaphragm; 8 7/8" Clutch, 20 Spline, 7/8" Hub; DOHC; 4WD
Our Price: $148.88

I agree with you, Ive bought alot of stuff from advanced Auto parts. Its like 20 ft down the road from the local autozone. Their prices are like you said 90% of the time cheaper, I just like the lifetime warantee Autozone gives for a little more. Advance autoparts also has awsome customer service, one time I bought a wheel bearing from there and it was defective so I brought it back to be replaced and they gave me a new one. However the bearing seals which I destroyed while pressing the bad bearing out were not faulty so he couldn't give me free replacements. So what the guy did is sell me new ones for 1 penny LOL. I had to go out to my car and dig around on the floor to find one. Not alot of places would do that. :thumb:
