I was hearing a banging noise on the bottom of my car so I thought it was my new exhaust work. When I check it out it ended up being one of the nuts on the front carrier bearing was loose. We then tightened it and it snapped. The studs threads got messed up from the loose bracket and when we tightened it gave out. There is still about 1" of the stud sticking out that I might be able to do something with but the threads are bad. Any way of fixing this?
Thanks
Jared

get out a good set of vice grips and a torch. heat up the base of the stud grab it with the vice grips as tight as you can and unscrew the stud.if you dont have a torch spray it with pb blast or another pentrating oil not wd40

Do you know if it is a stud or a bolt through the floor? Someone told me it was a bolt through through the floor that was welded and then covered by two layers of sheet metal that make up the floor of the car. If it is just a stud that will be an easier fix.
