I finally ran my 1.8L at the Street Legal drags here in AZ tonight.

Keep in mind this was my first time at the track and for $10 I got to run as many times as I wanted

Now heres those exciting numbers

The best I did out of 10 runs was a......................

[email protected]

I got a higher trap speed on my last run with a [email protected]

I had been expecting high 18s, but due to a vacuum leak and very low compression in cylinder #1, It kinda dragged me down

Just though everyone would like to see what the Blingsta is running now

LOL, dont worry my car is in that good of running shape. I dont Im that far in front of you, but at least your car looks better. :)

You the man Blingin Blang! Straight Reppin up in it like what!

I got a best of 16.50 at 89.9 mph with a blown water pump dragging me down my first time at the track. :D

It wasn't a diss or a compliment.

If he's into the "bling bling" than there is no reason to diss someone for being slow. Im sure he could always drop a 4g63T in there (I know nothing of 1g's) and than he can be fast and bling.

I already plan on swapping, but for now, gotta make the 1.8L look clean :)

Congratulations, not so much on the ET, but on the fact that you actually went to the strip, ran the car, and then posted your times. There are lots of people who talk and talk, but never show up on race day. Again, congrats on the accomplishment.

I was hoping for high 18s before I went to the staging lines. But I was just there to see what I was capable of and to just have fun. Kinda sucked that my first ever race on the track was against a 13 second Z-28 OMG I had loads of fun watching the tree drop and just going all out LOL.

I know what you mean, my first pass was against an 11 sec Talon.

The whole process of drag racing, (waiting, burnout, prestaging, staging, racing, etc...) is a huge adreneline rush, no matter how fast your car is.

Yeah, i really f*cked up on the burnout my first time LOL. I'm used to the gas station burnouts :) But I did get to race a 91 tsi fwd that was COMPLETELY STOCK. He beat me, but he couldn't get out of the 16s. I got better at the burnouts as the night went on and my reaction times bettered too. Can't wait to fix the crap with my vacuum leak and low compression in cylinder #1 so maybe I could hit high 18s :D LOL

john someone told me dont burn out, fwd with no lsd .. no reason too
just go through the water pit and give it a good jerk to spin the tires and go up to the line dont sit there and burn up your tires.. the jerk will just get the water off of them

at least you went there and had fun, now you can try new things and see if you get better

bling blang.. hes not bling bling because of his ride..its his ice..hehe

There is a much better reason to not bother with burnouts.. Street tires are made of a different compound than drag slicks. This is obvious visually and by touch. A drag slick is much "stickier"(is that even a word?) Anyway, when you burn out on street tires, the rubber you just burned off actually cools onto the tire and makes a slick outter surface coating around it. You'll actually get less traction than you would just straight launching on streets. The tires just don't stay warmed up.. they're designed to resist heat on hot roads during the summer so they don't explode. Drag slicks on the other hand, burn the hell outta them. The hotter they are, the better they stick. Honestly it has nothing to do with the LSD.. all-though without an LSD you're only going to heat one of your slicks. So it is still kinda pointless.

The last few runs of the night i drove around the water box and did just a small burnie before I staged and I got a higher trap speed. Dunno if that even helped, but oh well.

Thanks Rick :D

Ok this is completely off the subject. But today as I was leaving school I notice a ZX2 the same color with the same rims as you Talonblinbling. :) I think someone stole your idea.

I guess that's not bad for a 1.8. I will be happy to drive away with a 12.9 tomorrow.
