It's an old friend of mine i'd like to beat, it's stock right now so? Do I stand a chance?

Of course. All you need is to know how to drive. :p

I thought the professional time slips were something like 14.5 and the SRT was like 13.9 I figured The car just wasnt strong enough but if all I need to do is know how to drive then I have this match already won.

True, but at the same time, don't get over confident or cocky. One bad launch can leave you going home with your tail between your legs.

well, good luck man. Be sure to let us know what happens.

I raced one of those a few weeks back, The only way youll beat it is from a stop. Anything from a roll he should pull you. I dont have much done and pulled the SRT i ran. Here's my post from a different forum:

First race we go from a light and i tear him up out of the hole putting 3-4 cars on him off my launch. Im thinking he'll start creeping back up on me but i just keep pulling him. We shut down around 70 or 80 and i had pulled about 5-6 cars on him.
Second race we go from a 20 roll and he gets the jump and then i miss third for a total of him putting about 2 cars on me.
Then he rolls up next to me and the passenger asks me if i want to race on the highway and see what our cars really can do. We get next to each other on highway doing about 60 and i'm thinking this guy is gong to kill me! He honks three times, turbos spool and i immediatly start walking away from him putting, no joke, like 6-8 cars on him up to 140.
We race one more time doing the same thing, only this time i let off after i start to pull him and let him catch up. What led to me to do that i dont know, but he flys past me and i get on it again, but he starts to slowly pull away from me.
I dunno what happened the first highway race but he was like "DAAAAAAMN DOG, your shits fast!" so im assuming he didnt miss gears or anything like that. Anyway, those srt4's are pretty quick! GOOD RACING!

MODS: Intake, Blitz BOV, Dejon Tool UIP, MBC set @ 16 psi, Gutted Catalytic, 3" muffler, Free Mods

Yeah. They are quick, but DEFINATELY beatable. I also feared them on the I-state at first from the tech write-ups, but strangely, dont have much trouble pulling them even above 60. If its a grudge match, race from light to light on the street. As long as you can drive, you should be able to edge him out.

i have a friend with a srt4 and he wants to race me..
he talks a lot of shit...so i wanna beat him.
i hope i can beat him..
i have a few mods but dont know if it enough:confused:

:dsm: :thumb: :dsm:

ill also be racing an evo i hope that goes good 2..but the girl with the evo dont know how to drive that well and dont know how too launch good...

I'm gonna run him later today. I'll let you know what happens,I'm not worried, no one has beat my AWD launch yet. I'll show him the beauty of AWD Turbo. I mainly asked because i'm not much into getting my self into a race I have no chance at.

get him to race you somewhere slippery, not very used road
The slippier it gets the better off you are

Yes because racing on wet roads is smart :thumbdown

I was at Norwalk Raceway in Ohio and there was a srt4 there that was stock it had timp tag with the same date as the night at the track and it ran a (99-02) Camero SS and beat it there was no times on the board because it was street race night but it all so beat a wrx by at least 3 cars(wrx run like 14.4) they can be beat but they are quick just turn up the boost and go its all you can do good luck

I'm not saying on wet, somewhere dusty and not very used.

i raced gst tonight

loud turbo spool so i'm guessing k and n, loud bov, stock exhaust, not sure if he had a boost controller or not.

but i beat him pretty bad. This was from a roll at about 50. up to 80 i had 3 car lengths so i shut down. How do GST's fair with SRT4s on the highway? I have yet to meat one. Mods in profile.

black 95 tsi the gst driver sucked...plain and simple. I raced a srt witha messed up clutch at the time all I had was :1g bov intercooler, kand n filter, 2.5 in cat back exhaust mcb set at 13 psi. highway I walked all over him witha full trunk
Fast def faster stock, but very beatable. Oh yeah the guy was a good driver, and I can tell. When my car was stock I raced a comaro ss and I stay right by his side and yes he was racing. That def constatutes a bad driver ss comaro cant walk a gst....that or a sick comaro(the bad kind of sick).

edit:I had the messed up clutch not the srt:laugh:

I also highly doubt you running mid 13s with your setup...come down my way next season Ill show you how gst can be driven:thumb:

there is no way that similarly modded cars one weigh 2700 and the other well over 3000 would be side to side

i think wrx's are just a hair over 3000. I kno this because it says it on the doorsill of the car. From 60 we were side by side and at 100 my front bumper was at his front wheel. He ran a 13.6 at 94 and i havent ran my car. LOL i dont need to prove that i can race a mid 13 second car on the internet thats pathetic. I'm just saying i walked all over that GST last night

I know I was just stating the age old prophcy gst on a roll gsx at a stop. I wasnt atesting to your driving skills either cause I do the same thing I beat cars on the street that beat me at the track. And yes internet racing is pathetic

I ran one over the summer in Cali from a roll (started at about 30 mph) and stomped him the 1st run (I was completely stock except for K&N filter at the time and had a bunch of tools in the back as well).

So after the 1st run we both slowed down and I let him get the launch this time. I screwed up the 2nd-3rd shift and he started pulling away. Finally got it in 3rd and punched it. . .closing the gap then we both had to slow down again due to traffic on the highway.

So yeah . . . depending how the two of you drive- it should be a good run :D

Hmmm..... from a roll........ a twist here, a wedge there, and you'll have him.

:shhh: Until he steps up to stage 3. Then you will be seeing tailights. :p
