k so i went to the track last friday and i ran a 15.1 and a best of 14.981 @87. turned out i had a boost leak in my uicp so i jb welded it and retested for leaks. nothing.

so i go to the track again tonight. i ran twice. first run: r/t : .684, 60' : 1.999, 1/4:[email protected]. ok so thats better but my time is still slow for my mods i have and my trap is way low. i was shifting at 6,500 rpm's. second run goes as follows........ r/t: .647, 60': 1.896, 1/4: [email protected].

i just dont get it something is wrong here, for my mods my times and traps should be better. there was a 98 gsx there close to stock that ran a 14.8 @92 mph or something like that. well i did realize after my second run i couldnt tighten my type s bov nut all the way down so i unscrew the nut and what do i see but the spring coming up and outside of the bov. so now that is ####ed. it has always hissed under boost too. i mean it would blow off but when boosting when u hear the air sucking, u can hear the bov hissing. i dunno it doesnt blow off now, im gonna try and fix it tomorrow. do u guys think i could have had a bov problem all along, that it was not holding boost? any ideas will help here. im gonna do a leak test again tomorrow. im sure ill come up with nothing again. im out of ideas here. someone please help cause my gsx is not up to par :( oh yea my mod list is in my profile.

alright i did the leak test today and i can only get like 5 psi into the system cause my lil compressor that plugs into my cigarette lighter outlet sucks balls and is weak. anyway im getting a leak back between the firewall and the tb. it almost sounds like it is a hose or something leaking. i cant put my finger on it but the thing is my boost guage only reads boost, no vacuum. so maybe its been a vacuum leak all along??? i dunno but i tightend down my bov again. the lil nut wont tighten all the way, just finger tight or the screw will start to pop up. so that could be messed now too. someone please help :dsm:

maybe your not that far off? u have about the same mods i do as far as engine. I havent run mine yet cause im waitin for the downpipe to come in. i would think w/out a downpipe you cant get faster than 14.5 - 14.6 newayz. I know that doesn't help but i dont get what your shooting for? What do you think you should be running?

you know ...your right.....since im still a dsm knoob as far as mods i cant help 2 much but STOCK my trap was 89.7 mph...hmmm i wonder what it could be.....maybe u someone will be able 2 help you out

hah my bad, i found out what it is. my throttle body was leaking at the shaft. my o ring was junk. im waiting for a new throttle body now. i couldnt put more than 5 psi into my system, it was leaking right the #### out. now u dsm wisemen.........how does a 1998 with 55k miles on it have an o ring in the throttle body go to crap on it so quick??????? ive only had it since 50k. i dunno just seems wierd. is this common????????? the reason i ask is cause im getting a tb off a 98 gst used. and i dont want that to have the same problem.

Theres a vfaq regarding replacing the O-rings...They like $7 a piece and it only takes 30 minutes or so....

I have the same problem with the hissing, it's really ackward. Let us know how the installation goes and o-ring replacement and such.

Thanks
