well everybody i talk to says that runing leaded race gas will destroy my o2 sensors so the other alternative i thought of is just adding octane booster...has anybody else done this?? how many bottles can safely be added?

Have you thought of using water injection or propane injection? Those are other alternatives to run higher boost on pump gas. I can't give you more information about them as I am not familiar with them. But there a few threads here on both of them.

hmm sounds like that stuff would cost a lot of money? LOL its not like im a pro street racer i just am going to the track for a day to see what my beast can do so i can rub it in my class mates faces :) LOL but anyways...any other import people?

One day of race gas wont hurt you. Even serveral tanks shouldnt hurt the chemicals inside the sensor.

Octane booster is junk never waste a cent on that stuff.
Hmm lets see $7 for a bottle that raises octane rating .7 so if you had 91 octane in your tank and you poored this in. You would have 91.7 damn what a boost for your money.

Just use race gas. My cousin runs it all the time in his 90 talon tsi with the catalytic convertor. Race gas will not kill your 02 sensor btw.
It only puts it out of wack for about 20 miles. After that it is normal again.

well people tell me it will and it wont hurt them....so i guess i just wanna know how much a typical sensor is? i know there is 2 kinds but how much are ours? if they're not to terribly expensive, i'll risk using race gas...thanks to all who replied so far

Most tracks offer unleaded race gas. It's usually 100 octane, although some places have unleaded up to 106 octane. That'll be plenty good to show what the car can do with a few extra psi of boost.
Octane boosters are crap, but the less crappy off the shelf octane boosters have a lead substitute that affects the O2 sensor just like real lead.
O2 sensors are about $75. I've used leaded race gas at the track, and the O2 sensor seems to return to normal after burning through a few gallons of unleaded.

what exactly does the o2 sensor do when not acting normal? is my car gonna buck or something for a few miles or what?

If your afraid of leaded fuels, then stick with the 100-104 octane. Othwise, do the Xylene/Toulene fuel mixture. That also works great. I didn't check up on your setup, but, I use C16 alot....and I have no problems...
