Haha, yes its a very old turbo to dsmers.. Funny thing is they've had their second coming with subarus, evos and its very popular with srts in stage3 10cm manifolds as the "47lb" upgraded compressor, but with tdo5h turbine

Dam I had no idea.
I ran a 20G last Fall and went 10.5@ 130. I didn't bother putting up the time since I only got 2 runs and I just used the same tune from the 16G setup. It only hit 26psi, then the flywheel ring gear crept off so I parked the car for repairs. The turbo definitely had more in it. I'm sure if I tweaked the tune and got it to hold more boost it would've gone faster.

Just a tip: 10.5 ET on a 20g will not be as easy as you think :nono:

Wow, 10.5"s is impressive on a 20g.. Is that with the 15in 225 drag radials?? And how much does you car weigh in at?

Yeah, I think I seen some where on there that a guy on Frank 5 20g went 10.76 @ 135 with a 1.8 60ft without spray! Im running a Frank 5 and Gives me high hopes with my setup!

I really need to update my profile, it still shows the mods when I ran the 14B.
I switched to slicks last season, they're 24.5" tall on 15" rims. It saved a few pounds over the drag radials. The last time I weighed my car it was around 2800 with me in it. I plan to run the 20G at a few events this coming Spring and see how fast it can go!

I would suggest trying to keep the 14b setup listed somewhere. If you don't want to lose the profile info you have for that setup on the site there may be a way.

I'm not sure if Chris has this feature widely available to everyone on the site yet, but I think he does.

Go to your profile. At the bottom of the screen there's a red bar that has tabs for "Visitor Messages", "Contact Info", "Statistics", "Friends", etc. If you click the double arrowhead button on the right side of that bar, you should see a drop down box, with one of the options being "My DSMs". If you click that, you should find a way to add multiple DSMs to your profile.

I have my old car listed that way, and I know Justin also has 3 listed, other than the main one in his profile.

(Horsepowerfreaks.com) Did sell 7 stages of the Frank turbos and just recently they stopped!

I know this thread is old, but I'm trying to make my name for a mhi 20g. Yesterday I made my first ever trip to the track and didnt run anything close to any of the 20g leader boards but I did happen to run 109mph one run. Best time was 14.24 at 103.xx. Mods up to date at 17-22 psi. Hallman pro is all the way closed and that's all I get. I'm leaning towards boost leak or my external wastegate. Anyhow, I'm looking to run some nice numbers with that 109 and hopefully even better with 25psi 27 psi. This is on auto cross BFG r1s 245/40/zr17 at 18psi tires pressure, full weight AC car with about 100-150 pounds of extra weight in car. I'm thinking with some weight reduction, more boost, better tune and slicks I'm in the 12s for sure.

Dave makes it look so easy , if you really tried you could have a bunch of diff records.

Ha, I suppose I could if I put some effort into it. I just didn't have the time to hit the track as much. Last year was a good year for turbo swaps tho, I tried out 4 different turbos. Most were on/ off the car within 3 months and two dyno sessions. I got a good feel for them all, different spoolup characteristics, different powerband, different transient response. It was a good comparison, now I have my favorites. I'm keeping the 6466 on the car, it's my favorite by far!

The real question in my mind is do enough people care about the 20g to make a "record" significant? The 14b is popular because it's the "stock" turbo with the most potential, the 16g because it's usually the first "turbo upgrade". I know they've stated some Holset record somewhere since they've become so popular, and there was a 35r record, mainly because the 35r was a popular large sized turbo that was still considered by some to be streetable (at least that's my interpretation). The 20g was popular back in the day but it's considered by most now to be old technology that's overpriced compared to better options. So I'm not sure it has enough following for anyone to care what the "record" is at this point. Just my .02 If it means enough to you to go after it though, by all means go!
