Hi all, I would like to know how many others have had such great luck with there 3 bolt rear every one says sucks. I have been to the track a few times and always get low 1.7's with cheap kumho 225s and full interior. I also street launch the car with a stutterbox set around 4750. The car has 155k on stock rearend and axles without a single glitch. I know for the last 50k of those miles a 2600 has been handling the launching task. Any others like me?

small go fast list - 50trim, 264/272,780cc, Eprom with dsmchip

I was hitting 1.7 60' on my small 16g and act2600, launching at 6k rpm.

But, I chickend out and swapped in a 4 bolt. Before I did the swap, the axles would click when they loaded after backing up.

I still havent launched the car yet with my new 50trim.

Wow only two 3 bolt rears have made it to 1.7s without snapping? I know there is others with 90-91s. Any one?

170k miles on stock 3 bolt rear here. Consistence low 1.7 sixty-foot on 225/45/17 Kumo 712. The axles seals starting to leaks but easy replacement.

My best with 4 bolt rear sixty-foot is 1.675 with 226/50/16 Dunlop 8000s on my 93' AWD.

All on 4700-5000rpm launches.

With built Shep tranny, 4 bolt rear, upgrade turbo, weight reductions and 5500rpm lauching, I expect to see mid-low 1.6 sixty on street tires. :thumb:

Hey, are'nt you one of the guys I met when I came up there w/ my buddy Jon a while back when you guys had the bbq and it rained and was nasty as shit the whole day?? Was'nt your car the really LOUD ;) one?

Been pulling 1.7s w/ my 3-bolt since I got my car. Gone as fast as 12.3@112 w/ no problems. 119k on it now. But I'm puttin a 4-bolt in it now cuz the car's gonna be a lil quicker now!

My friend pulled lots of 1.8s in it. Eventually the 3 bolt died, and he got a 4 bolt.

Shouldn't there be a huge shortage of 4 bolts, seeing how there's no aftermarket 4 bolts or anything like that? Don't they all come off of other 1GBs?

For every 4 bolt that comes off a 1Gb, 3 more full shells get parted out. :D

Haha yeah Trance, thats me. I got the ATR exhaust so the muffler is just slip over with exhaust clamp. Its always fun every now and then to run the straight three with no muffler hahah. It lets the cams talk where all can hear :p

Thanks for the replys on other 3 bolts, good luck to the guys still running them!! I hope to be able to run a mid-high to high 11s this summer on a 3 bolt rear. Haha i got triple A if im not so lucky. :talon:

I have a 6 bolt on my current 92 but am selling it and getting a 96 awd turbo auto.Do all the 2g cars have 4 bolts and do the 4 bolts on the 2g fit the 1g cars..If not I have a spare 1g 4 bolt or most of it had to strip some parts already.

I once cut 1.57 on my 3 bolt. it was a fluke but didn't break the diff. Usually cut low 1.7-high 1.6 when I was EVOIII 16G.

Ran a 1.80 flat only holding 5 pounds of boost off the line. I am able to hold 10 now since I fixed that huge manifold leak and the car really jumps off the line now. I should be hitting low 1.7's now, I will let you know when I get back to the track (should be withing the next couple of weeks). That is with 170,000 miles on the factory rear-end.

Haha well I see my thread is back alive. My best time with my 3 bolt this summer was 11.8@ 119. I have put another 20-25 passes on the car and got a local 4 bolt for cheap. Only reason I did the swap is I plan to run high 10s next season. Car since has got the a built motor, built TRE trans. Looking to run deep 11s on 50trim and 10s with little bottle help. Maybe, not sure what I want to do at this point.

Happy Boostin, long live the 3 bolt.
