Hey guys I am trying to get my 1g running. Anyways did a compression check and here are the numbers. We did two runs.

Cylinder 1- 140,138
Cylinder 2- 140,140
Cylinder 3- 135,138
Cylinder 4- 155,155

I the car is running ok but fouls out plugs pretty in about 10-15 mins. Anyways plug wires were checked and double checked. I just put in plugs in and here is what they looked like after the car warmed up for the compression check.

As you can see cylinder 1 is clean. It also had the hit of gas. Cylinders 2-4 were black. However when the car starts missing its always on cylinder 1. Any Ideas on what could cause this. Any help would be great. Thanks

Number 1 looks like it's not firing for some reason. As for the fouling, have you checked the battery voltage with the engine running? Are those the correct heat range plugs?

Battery Voltage is good. The car is very close to stock and these are stock ngk plugs. Brp6es I think. Compression Numbers ok?

1G (90-94) T/E/L 2.0L Turbo engine
Compression ratio 7.8:1
Standard compression 164 psi
Service limit 121 psi
Max difference between cylinders 14 psi

You're numbers are ok except for the difference on cylinder 4 is pushing it.

How sure are you that the wires are functioning properly? Did you replace them or measure them with a multimeter? Have you tried different injectors? Maybe cylinder one is plugged shut or open? Try swapping stuff around and see if you can get the problem to follow a component.

Yeah going to borrow some brand new wires tomorrow and let the car run. Could also take another set of injectors and give it a test. Good to have another dsm in the driveway with a bad balance shaft atm.
