Belle River,
I'm getting ready to have my new motor built. The block and crank are machined and ready to go. I have a set of eagle rods, and weisco 9:1 pistons. My question is this; Is there a difference in bearings? Say between OEM, clivit, federal mogal? Etc. I'm not looking at size,( I know what I need). Just different manufacturer. Is a bearing a bearing? Or is there some difference between them?

In all honestly the bearing doesn't do anything until a journal comes in contact with it. By that time damage is done. I've used a few different bearings and I really like the ACL tri-metal's that don't have the flash coating babit layer. Although on a DD engine you would want a bearing with the babit layer as it will absorb little bits of metal and stop them from doing damage. In a race motor you have oil filters for that which get changed often. Really whatever you use definitely check you bearing clearances and if they are in the middle to the tight side of the spec you will definitely be good to go.
