I don't know if anyone is into sheet metal mods.
This is all metal & is an Aus Ford XB GT welded onto a VR4.
It is open accross the screen & vents heat out very well.
Put it this way, you can wot it & pop the bonnet & hold the inlet mani etc

No pics of whole car because it was stolen years ago.
Luckily at the time I had a std bonnet on it.
I do still have that bonnet in the garage.
If you want a view under the bonnet, I could take a pic.
I have another xb gt bonnet which I will weld onto my Lancer.
Cheers !

Very clean work from the pic. I've been wanting to do something like this for quite a while now ( at least since my MSD has been living under the hood LOL )

I can do the sheet metal work, I just can't lay metallic paints and get them to match perfect unless i shot the original color for some reason. They are very tricky about spray distance and angle when it comes to matching. BUt that job looks really nice...Plus if there were any fine areas of the fab showing through the white paint should hide them well!

Hi Paul. I'll grab the bonnet out of the shed tomorrow for your pic.
I was tempted to coment in your compound thread regarding a hood.
A duct under this hood, between the 2 vents, could run the length of
the hood, between the opening at the screen, to the front of the rocker
cover. Most of your rising heat would come up to the screen & the 2
vents create air movement under the hood. The difference in temp is
huge compared to the usual trapped heat. Midnight here, pic tomorrow.
I sent you a pm the other day. Maybe your settings don't allow me to ?
Cheers !

Here ya go Paul. Under hood views for you.
The boxed area was to flow air around my W2A I/C above the auto box.
You could picture an enclosed duct (14" x 2½" x length) under the hood
to draw exh manifold heat out to the screen. Next hood will have btw.

1/2" turned up 1" past the water squirters, so water would drain to either side.
Tripple folded safe edge is at the opening to stiffen the skin.
Cheers !

Showing off now Aldo!! ROFL
Still look nice no matter how many times i've seen it mate!
The US guys won't know what an XB is either.... maybe you should add a photo or 2.

I should paint it black & throw it on the Monte Tim hey.
They don't bag a Ford ad on like they do in galantvr4 !
I've got another one here for the Lancer to get the heat out.
Interesting forum don't you think Tim ?
Cheers !
