I think I read in a previous post that a 1g fuel rail can be used in a 2g to simplify the installation of a fpr. I now cannot find the post but am still interested in this because I can pick up a 1g rail with a 06an adapter welded in it for $50.

Is this easily done? What (if any) modifications would be necessary to do this swap?

It says that you can get a 1g fuel rail, so I am just making a suggestion since you have not commited to that route yet.
What you would spend on that setup, you could get a get 2g direct bolt on for a few dollars more from fullthrottlespeed.com Mike Licht was prompt about replying and I had my part in less than one business week. I should mention that this was during the holidays and it still got here as promised. I cannot say anything good or bad about other vendors, but full throttle is who i dealt with and they were very prompt You can turn the pressure up or down and best part is that it is a direct bolt on to the 2g fuel rail with no modifications to the fuel rail.
Actually, upon further consideration, you will spend more going with the 1g fuel rail route.

fullthrottle.com looks like a software company.
"Pipeline Software The Windows Embedded and Bluetooth specialists "
or so the site says...

A 1g fuel rail is physically shorter than the 2g but everything else is the same and its a direct swap. It makes the 90 degree turn near the timing belt cover easier to deal with if you're plumbing something yourself.

I was just offering a simpler solution, but you are absolutely right about the 1g rail. I figured I could help save him a few dollars, but then again I should have checked to see what he was looking to accomplish with the car before I made any suggestions. Either way, my suggestion stands if it fits his criteria.

1g rail with a 6AN adapter on one end or both? If both $50 is not bad, but if one side dont buy it.
Numerous places sell bolt on 6AN adapters for the fuel rails for $20 a piece.
