1g TB on 2g What did it do for you.

I've searched and searched. I get that it's an upgrade but what does it actually do. I've searched, I get no answers on how it improves times at the track, how much hp it gives you. Anyone have any timeslips to support this upgrade
 
I would like to know also, im thinkin about gettin a 1g intake manifold and tb, soon. Im sure there would b some gains but how much??
 
I'm wondering the same thing also. I keep hearing that it's an upgrade, but that's about it. I know it's bigger and would/could flow more air, but would the performance gains be noticeable?
 
Probably not much if any, the large restrictions are in the head and the stock manifold. To me this mod doesn't make any sense. You can't flow more if the air really has no place to go.


PLUS, correct me if I'm wrong. The TB's are different diameters and SO are the main plenum inlet diameters. Placing a larger diameter TB on a small diameter inlet goes against reason.

that's why you're supposed to port the intake manifold using the 1G gasket as a template
 
If i am not mistaken to do this mod you need 1g TB,Intake manifold and to port the head which is something not everybody can do on their backyard! is an expensive and hard working mod.
 
I have a 1G TB and don't know if it'll make the difference I want so I am holding off on swapping it. I knew RRE has a tech thing about the porting of the IM. Hope someone noticed a difference, I might do it then.

I just installed the 1g tb on my 2g and ported the intake mani. I didn't notice any huge difference. It did seem to improve throttle response slightlyand a lil' quicker spool-up. no major differance ...but every lil bit counts!!!
