How much difference does a turbo swap make?

Assuming I choose a bolt on turbo like this one http://www.machv.com/gart28tur95t.html

How much of a differance will it make I DO NOT want to run bigger injectors an S-AFC or anything like that. I want to pretty much complete stage 1 in the tuning guide and call it a day.

So my question is if I bone up for the turbo what do I have to do for it? Or what turbo is more recommended to not have me need the S-AFC or injectors etc or can I run a 550 injector with no weird side effects with a suggested turbo. I also don't want to change the intercooler or the intake piping aside from the hard piping I installed. Will a lower IC pipe help me as well I don't hear them talked about as much as the upper.

Thanks for any replies.

Your car came with the T-25 right? You can just find a used 14B(of course either rebuilt, or in great condition) as a replacement. you should be able to run it without fuel management upgrades. Yes, changing those stock IC pipes will help. You can turn up the boost without having those shitty stock pipes blowing off.

Thanks for the info where is a good place to find a used 14b? Turbo? Who makes it etc...

I have already changed the IC pipes the upper and S pipe along with a DeJontool intake with K&N FIPK and 3" cat back exhaust I am in the process of getting a test pipe then I will port my o2 sensor housing and get a down pipe at the same time.

Hmm, now that I don't know. You can either look for one in the classified thread, or you can get with one of the 1G owners, and ask them. :)

Just bought one on ebay from a 1g 5 speed hope it fits complete for 100 bucks.

Do you have your installation kit? cause if you don't this 14b turbo will not bolt right in, But don't worry, it's not a major problem, 2G owners swap to 14b-16g turbos all the time, all you have to do (if not already) is find an instalation kit, used might be cheaper, try www.dsmtrader.com or here in the classifieds section...

But if you already have this, and you upgraded your intake piping, then you'll be happy with the results...

I don't have an install kit where can I get a brand new kit from? Also what boost should I run with the 14B? Still 16 PSI.

If you aren't doing any fuel mods; less than 16. You will be pushing more air at the same PSI with a 14b.
