what's the most whp a hks(2.5) carbon/ti exhaust can handle,?i'm pushing around 335whp on 22psi and i want to know if it can take me in the 400whp?thanks for the help

Dude you dont have all that on your car. And the exhaust can handle all the power you throw at it, but its the flow that is the question. What size is the piping? What size is your downpipe?

I run the Carbon-Ti setup on my car. Once I begin to outflow it, I plan on cutting off the 2.5" part and going full 3"

my downpipe is a 3in hrc,and the piping is 2.5in.they don't make 3in for fwd.

It can take ten million billion trillion hp. What do you mean how much HP can an exhaust take? Unless you make 1000hp and your motor jerks enough to break it, it can take an infinite amount. I'm not sure what you mean.

If your refering to flow, you can still run a 2.5" exhaust on a 1000hp motor, just dont expect to make 1000hp, it will likely take away 100 or so HP. so on your car vs. a 3" it might make a 10-15hp difference and 3-400rpm of spool at a 350-400hp level.

I'm sure it looks cool and all, but you can get a good 3" exhaust for the price of the HK$

Of course you can't brag to your friends that you have the latest, greatest Greedy, Apexi, or HK$ product, but hey.....

Jim,

Coming from the Supra community... The removal of a 3" catback netted a gain of over ~140 at the wheels. (This is on an Automatic Supra that Dynod 1040 at the wheels...)

As far as going from 2.5-3" on a sub 400whp turbo car, it'll likely cost you a bit of torque at lower RPM, but the top end gains usually register on the Butt Dyno.

i am going to go with the thermal exhaust because when i put the hks on my car i felt a HUGH loss.i went from a tanabe 3" exhaust to the hks thinking that the h.p loss would be very little, but yes i was wrong.the car fells like a dog on the highway now,it spools up a little quicker but it's not worth what you loss at topend.
