mild steel o2 housing?

So I found a nice looking tubular o2 housing made of 16 guage mild steel. I guess my question or concern is, is there any reason that I would not want it to be made from mild steel? Should I find something made from stainless steel instead? The only thing that I know is that it can/will rust eventually as opposed to stainless steel. Are there any other cons of using mild steel? Should I consider rust a big concern?

You could get the mild steel and get it coated by www.jet-hot.com with jethot 2000, they are doing my o2 housing for $15.

But would he still have to worry about it rusting later-on in the future?

If its coated and water and air can not reach it then it's good to go. Mild steel unprotected is a problem. Even painted will make a hell of a difference.
