Well my TRE ported 14b came today, and contradictory to the description given, it has quite a few cracks, i can see light from one by the WG flapper when looking into the turbine housing. Can these be fixed cheap? There isnt any shaft wobble thank god. I did use an escrow service so my $195 (shipped) isnt gone yet. Any advice is appreciated!

I thought of that, but a new one is almost as much as i paid for the turbo, im thinkin ill just decline and ship it back...escrow still has my money.

Yea i've read that, but will it effect performance at all? The one by the Wg i can see light through...

Well i'm thinking i might try welding the cracks, then smoothing out the beads...will that work? Also, should i be able to move the WG actuator arm by hand? Cuz i cant get the flapper to open at all...

i got a used 14b that has the typical and common cracks around the wastegate. no problems.

as far as the wastegate actuator, it is somewhat difficult to move by hand. you can always take it off to see if the flapper moves freely.

sorry man but i wouldnt have bought a used turbo for anywere... to many bad experiences with them. i used a cracked one once in friends car and it leaked oil thro the cracks so junked that one

yea i think im sending it back to him ( thank god for escrow!!)..i guess ill try again cuz i just cant afford to buy a new (or used for that matter) 16g, so the quest for a good 14b will continue! Thanks for your opinions!
