wrx turbo on dsm???

A WRX turbo bolts to an up-pipe with 3 bolts and both the exhaust and compressor housings are configured different. I just did a Stage 4 swap on a new WRX and was hoping I could have taken the stock WRX turbo for my Tsi. But no deal.

From what I have read, the wrx turbo's aren't that much bigger than a 14b, or even a T-25. Well... maybe a little bigger than a T-25. LOL

Woa...hold on a minute fellas...lets straighten some things out.

First off: "Boxer" in this case refers to the orientation of the cylinders in the Suby engine. It's a horizontally opposed flat 4 cyl, which means the cylinders are not in a row like on a DSM. Instead theres two on each side, 'stroking' in opposite directions.

Second: The Porsche BoxTer is N/A. To my knowledge there is no Porsche Boxer (car) currently in production, however, since the engines in the Boxter, Carrera, 911 Turbo, GT-2, etc... all have a horizontally opposed configuration, they might be refered to as "boxer" engines, of the 6cyl variety, as opposed to the Suby' 4.

Third: the Turbos on the Suby are Tdo4 (from an earlier post), while the porsche Turbos are manufactured by KKK. They have no similarities, except in their basic concept and function.

Ok, everyone clear? have I made any mistakes?

Why would you want to put a WRX turbo on a DSM? From what I've heard, that turbo is smaller than a T-25. Besides, $200 for that tiny thing isn't that great of a deal, regardless of the mileage. You can get a T-25 or even a 14B for less than that......

Ok, to further straighten things out... this guy is running a friggin 420A motor. There's really no such thing as a "bolt-on" turbo for the Neon... yet... (SRT4 isn't out)

Furthermore, like other folks have said, the 14B is actually an upgrade for a WRX. Hahn uses a 16G for his 420A turbo kits... and 90GSX is right. "Boxer" engine refers to ALL horizontally opposed engines (aka a 'flat' engine) and the Porsche Boxster does not have a turbo. In fact, the only Porsche with turbo(s) are the mighty 911 Turbo and it's variants (ie GT2).

So, unless you're willing to fork over $3k+ for a Hahn turbokit... you might as well buy a real DSM with a turbo in it already.

i hate to argue but i was reading on the new neon turbos and the pt crusier turbo they are using the old 2.4 liter that was used in the datoyna chargers during the eighties and early ninties. and yes they are out cuz howell automotive has one of the neons sitting at his shop. and my neighbor drove the crusier last weekend.
