I've been looking for a 6 bolt block to swap into my walk'n 2nd gen. Will I be able to use the block of a 1992 galant n/t? Is the galant engine the same as a 420a? If it is the same as the 420a... will I be able to use the block for the swap. I searched and it seems the only thing different between the 420a block is the oil squirters and pistons/rods which i will be replacing in a rebuild. Will the block be able to support a large turbo as good as a 4g63 6 bolt block? Thanks

Ok I'm kinda confused here. Your profile says you have a 95 Talon TSI AWD which means you have a 4G63 motor. The 420a came along in 95 for the 2G cars which a 92 Galant N/T isn't. A 4G63 head will not bolt onto a 420a block they are totally different motors. That would be like trying to put a VTEC head on your car.

What the heck are you talking about?

Ok, the 420a is only in 2g eclipses. All other mitsu products use mitsubishi engines. 89-93 galants use 4g63's SOHC or DOHC. 94-98 Galants use 4g64's SOHC(mostly) or DOHC.

The 420a shares NOTHING in common with the 4g63 or 4g64. They are different in every way. Just forget about a 420a. Now a 4g64 is almost identical to a 4g63. The main difference being .060 over bore, 6mm higher deck height and 1.2mm more stroke. I hope that sets you strait.
