walbro 255 pump, high pressure or not?

im going to be ordering a walbro 255lph fuel pump within the week, but i dont know weather i should get the high pressure one or not, my fuel pump is already rewired, and i will not be getting an AFPR for a few more months
iv heard that a 255 will make the car run rich without an AFPR, thats good becasue my car need to run a lttle bit richer, but will the high pressure pump make it run even more rich then the regular 255 pump at stock fuel pressure? or do they perform the same without an AFPR?
i was planing on the high pressure one because later down the line i will probally need it, but if my car will run better with the lower pressure 255 punmp i might just get that, i will probally need something bigger then a 255 when i upgrade the turbo and build the engine to what i want anyway

What are you planning to run to require more then a 255? Both the high pressure and low pressure will take you very far...

it doesnt really matter what im planing on putting in it, i plan to break 550whp later down the line after i buy my next project car for a daily driver
i just want to know if the high pressure and standard low pressure will be any different without an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, if the pressure will be higher with the HP pump ill get the regular pressure 255 pump

I would go with the high pressure. But you may need to get that AFPR sooner than you planned if you do. Going for 550 whp is pretty high so I would say definately get the Walbro 255 high pressure.

Just plan on getting the AFPR soon...The first upgrade I did in my '96 Eclipse was a Walbro 255HP fuel pump to replace a failing stock fuel pump. I didn't know about the problems associated with it, I just new it was available and cheap since I've ran the same one with my 2.3L Turbo Mustang. I couldn't understand why the car started running lean at high RPMs afterwards. Now I know better, but still haven't got an AFPR.

My long term fuel trim ends up at -8% with the 255HP.
