Where to buy FPR install kit? Also how much boost is okay at Dyno?

Hey, I am finally going to install my FPR. but I need the parts to install it. I have the SX 15402 with gauge port

So far I have found that Diamond star motorsports sells an install kit for 2G for $100+ 35 for a gauge. Does that look like a reasonable price? So far I found that the rail adapter is $25, and I dont know how much for the rest. I guess the plumbing and fittings are not cheap.

Is that the best route? Does any one have any experience with the kit? Are there any other fitting kits for the 2G availible?

Soon after, I am going to the dyno. With my mods(Plenty of fuel, and ETE32+ Greddy FMIC), can I run 22lbs pump, without fear of death to my motor, which is pretty stock.

With race gas yes. With pump gas maybe but that's why you're going to a dyno. Start a little lower with the boost and work your way up.

that kit is the one im gonna get, buscher sells a plug and play fpr that bolts right up, but thats 275.

I already have the FPR. Thought looking back, I think that buschur kit may have been the better route

assuming enough fuel is available.. you can run 20psi on a 16g daily driven.. much past that and the element of risk increases more and more..

I have an ETE32, which I think is a little bigger than a 20G. Not sure exactly though

I've recently ordered a Aeromotive AFPR and the DSM Motorsports AFPR install kit. The AFPR install kit is on backorder right now , but once I get it I'll post how it is. I'll be replacing the banjo bolt from the stock fuel filter to the fuel rail soon after I get everything installed.

Sucks that they are on back order. Did they say when it will be back in? Also, did you buy a the Autometer gauge? I am just wondering if ithe kit comes with the fitting for the gauge.

Hey, when you get it, let me know. Also, how do you set the FPR initially before you turn on the car? I am just afraid of starving the car when I first start it with the FPR.

They haven't gotten back to me about how long it will be on backorder. I did get the Autometer FP gauge, but I am not sure if it will come with an adapter to fit to the AFPR, but hopefully it does.

Yes, I have an EGT. Currently after a few runs on a hot day, it will reach about 820

Go to Jegs.com for all the fittings and the gauge. Jegs has a nice gauge for 19.99 and all the fittings you need for under $60.00. Then you will need to go to .http://www.flyservers.com/members4/autoalchemy.com/catalog/DSM_0001_FRIA.html for the dsm rail fitting. That is $28.00 shipped.

Jegs listing of fittings:
023FCM2183: $8.69
799-661960: $4.99
799-660350: $3.69
799-640160: $15.99

And also a barb fitting which I do not have a part number for but the person at jegs will know it, tell them you need a 6an barb fitting for a return line off the regulator!

Hope this helps.

GSXTCY: Thank you for that link, I think I will get their Fuel Line Inlet Upgrade kit in the future.

I think DSM Motorsports must get their billet fuel rail adapters from these guys. So they might be on backorder there too.

Thanks for the link. The kit from Diamondstarmotorsport, says it will fit a 2G, I am just afraid if I piece a kit together myself, that it wont fit correctly.

But those prices do sound good:thumb:

I just did the same kit on my 2g, gatrhered my own parts and installed it myself. I like to save a buck and do things myself. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Thanks Nick

GSXTCY,

What AFPR do you have? I have foudn that I may have a problem with My FPR cause the inlet is too big. I have the SX FPR 15402, with 10AN inlet

Man this sucks, I came back from CA, I just need 2 more mods, then I can go back to the dyno, and the two parts I need are on Back order =(
(FPR install kit and MAF translator)

man, thats pretty rich.. unless your running like 24psi you should be able to stay around 860 or so..

when i drag i hit 900 right as i pass the 1/4.. but usually i keep it so it doesent pas 870 no matter what.

the only downside to the richness is fuel will get in your oil, make sure you change it every 3k no matter what.. and use some top end cleaner once about every 10k gunk buildup in the cylinders and head occurs more rapid when running rich all the time..

oh yea, and change plugs every 3rd oil change.. NGK BPR7ES.. only like 6 bucks for 4 so its no biggie..

also about the top end cleaner.. you will smog out a city block like cheech and chong on a school bus.. just so ya know.

I decided to go with Diamondstar motorsports kit, for $100+5 for the extra fitting, I need for the 10AN inlet.

I figure that is just easier. Thanks for the help everyone... no only if someone can help me tune my car.... =) when I get the AFPR in. I will go back to the dyno after the MAFT is in.
