I have intake pipe and filter, 1g bov, and an rnr 2.5" o2 elim turbo back exhaust. In about a month or maybe two i will be getting a Big T28 Killer from TC.com and i wanted to get the fuel mods done first. I wasn't sure if this was a good setup or not though. I was thinking about getting a Walbro 190lph fuel pump and DSR 550cc Injectors. Not for sure about the injector brand but is that the right combination of sizes?

Note: This setup will be on my stock turbo for a while before i get the killer. So i can crank up the boost safely on the T25 right?

Also, will i need an afc? If i do, that might set me back another month or so. And i'm assuming i wont be needing a FMIC with this setup.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

My car is the same as yours now (as far as stock turbo, and fuel system, but I'm thinking of a T28 as well), but I've been thinking of upgrading my fuel system first too. Reason for this post is to tell you that DSMparts.com is running a package fuel upgrade. It comes with a 255lb Walboro pump, SAFCII, and 550C injectors for $699. I've ordered from them before, and while there slow at shipping (usually takes a week), there prices are pretty good, and they have good customer service. Good luck on your upgrades, and have fun.

If you get bigger injectors you really "should" get an AFC to go with it.. other wise the stock system will dump in fuel on what it thinks are the stock injectors while using the 550's... which could make you start to run really rich... which will kill you gas mileage, foul plugs and O2 sensors etc.

Another thing that you should think about when upgrading your turbo is your clutch. You may want to upgrade to an ACT 2100 and break it in before you put on your new turbo.

This is because with the extra HP the turbo gives you, and if you are doing AWD launches, your stock clutch could start slipping on you.... sometimes the stock clutch lasts not to bad with the increased HP, but the last thing you want is have all this HP, blow your stock clutch and then have to go through the 500 mile break in period of a new clutch while you have all that new HP waiting to be unleashed:cry:

I am doing similar mods as you and am getting my clutch first before doing fuel upgrades... it is frustrating when you want to slap on that bigger turbo for power but you have to spend the money on supporting mods first

Oh and as far as cranking up the boost on the T25.. basically anything past 16psi and you start blowing hot air and get no more performance gains above that. You can hit 16psi on your setup with a rewired stock fuel pump and stock injectors.:thumb:

I didn't even have to install my MBC.. I did the selenoid restrictor mod, put on a new UICP with a 1G BOV and it hits and holds at 16psi... of course above 5000 RPM the boost starts to drop... damn T25

does the S-AFC from Apexi also double as a boost gauge and air/fuel meter? I have a boost gauge, but i don't have an air/fuel meter which i was gonna get but, if i'm getting the s-afc, can i get rid of the boost gauge and not buy the air/fuel? Also, do you think its safe, or okay to run bigger injectors and an afc without a logger or egt gauge. My main concern is the new turbo running good. It seems like tuning is a very complicated thing from what i've read, is there any way around it?

Halfway down

I would go bigger than that with the injectors if you want to run pump gas.

As long as you can scale down with the AFC there is no disadvantage with even 720's

It also makes fuel delivery a bit less dependant on higher fuel pressure and duty cycle.

With the AFC and a FPR that can reliably raise and lower fuel pressure you should be ok.

720's will be hard to get a decent idle out of with an SAFC. Get 550's they are PLENTY for a T28 on pump gas. Yes you will need an SAFC to control your fuel so you dont run rich. If tuned properly your gas mileage will not change at all, but if you drive at WOT all the time it will go down a little bit. not too bad tho.

I'm sort of skipping over ever running an SFAC

How much can injector can they really compensate for?
