Looking for an EGT gauge when I left my car was running rich and having a few other problems. So when I get back I'm gonna work all my problems out and start some extensive tuning. looking for a good accurate EGT gauge for my 1g talon anyone got any suggestions. I've been looking at Autometer, but I know there are more out there.

Thanks in advance.

I have the autometer EGTs in all three of my DSMs. I just purchased a pyrometer EGT made by autometer, I have not installed it. I say get the autometer, if money is not a problem then go for the high end electronic ones (ie.greddy..etc).

Actually I just purchased a pyrometer EGT made by autometer as well. I am getting it installed tomorrow.

I have a EGT by Greddy with peak Hold.. Very nice piece.. I have the TRE probe.. Very fast response.. From what I hear there is a world of difference between the Greddy and Autometer EGT Gauges. I paid $125 for my Greddy EGT with new probe on the parts trader. :)

I also have the Greddy EGT gauge. Very nice gauge.

Thats a great price, but not many out there used. If I could afford a Greddy or the other high end ones, I would get those. The peak hold feature is nice to have. FYI - I bought my egt gauges from Ebay & Carparts.com (when I had some discount codes).

The greddy is a good gauge, but not a world of difference from the autometer, the only bad thing about the auto meter, is it only goes to 1600, but has great response. The sweet spot seems to be about 1400. Also true is the greddy looks alot better.

so far seems like greddy and autometer are the one to check out. anyone know where to get either of these from?

They didn't used to but alot of people b!tched to Autometer about it and now it is included. (At least that's what a rep told me at Carlisle)

Why in the world would you need a read out higher than 1600?

I only wanted one higher than that so that the gauge isn't almost maxed out at times. Admittedly I don't know much about exhaust temps, but I'd still rather have a gauge that has a little "extra" at the end, so it's not ever pegged.

Ya that's what is nice about the greddy. It has a little extra at the end even though my EGT are never 900 it nice.

Summit has best prices on gauges.

Autometer's have came with a probe (always) if you ordered the right one. The real cheapo's don't come with a probe, because that's what makes them cheap.

As far as nice EGT gauges, go with a Greddy or a SPA, SPA's are nice, but real $$$.

For the record, SPA's are my favorite gauges out at the moment, dual gauges, LCD type readout screens, and are VERY accurate.

I have:

Boost/EGT
Oil pressure/Oil temp
Fuel pressure/Water temp

See combinations of them here:
