Here's some info that I often refer to at work. Might be useful to some others. If anyone has any questions or requests, post them up. This stuff is all pulled from the manufacturer's catalogs.

Aeroquip hose specs. Most brands of SS braided rubber hose will be the same as Aeroquips +/- 5%.

Bent tube VS. forged flow differences.

I found this pretty interesting. A forged fitting usually affords more clearance and a stronger connection but it's pretty obvious by design alone that a bent tube fitting will have less flow restriction. So, how big of a deal is it really? Usually not much at all. As shown by this chart, there's only a restriction issue when flowing huge volumes through small orfaces (no real surprise there).

Fuel pumps flow the most at idle (base pressure). For reference, a Walbro 255 flows about 1.12 GPM. Two Bosch 044 pumps in parallel are around 2.55 GPM. For most any pump and line configuration that we would use on our cars, we aren't going to see much more than 1% pressure drop difference between the two types of fittings. So, not even close enough to worry about.

IMO, use whichever fits best for the application and ignore flow differences.

Cutter type VS. compression type hose ends.

Aside from push-lock and crimp type ends, these are the two types we choose from for SS braided rubber hose. Typically certain brands will stick to one type and each brand naturally claims theirs is the best.

The compression type seals by tightly compressing the hose between the socket and nipple. And during swiveling, the nipple moves with the hose, so it stays sealed and in place. I personally prefer this type because they install very easily and are reusable over and over agan and it has litterally zero downfalls.

The cutter type has a cutting edge along the nipple. It actually cuts into the face of the hose during assembly and this is what helps create the seal. Allow it does work well enough, it also has drawbacks. The cutting edge will dull with multiple uses. They are tougher to assemble the first time and sometimes imposible to assemble after several uses/cycles. Also, when swiveling, the tube inside the hose remains stationary, which means the hose must swivel around it. This can cause sealing issues.

Compression type: Aeroquip, Earls Auto-fit (non-swivel), Fragola 2000 series, Russell
Cutter type: Earls swivel, Fragola 3000 series, XRP

Excellent info, thanks for posting!
I just wanted to add that the chart showing 'hose flow capacities pressure drop' was done using hydraulic fluid which is more dense and more viscous that gasoline. Using the hose for gasoline or E85 will have less pressure drop, although I'm not sure how to quantify the difference.
