Will the internals from a 7 bolt go into a 6 bolt without any modifications. To be honest I dont know the difference between the two blocks, otherwise I probably wouldnt be asking this question. I blew my head and am replacing with the first gen head.

The guy has the 6bolt bare block for another 50bucks, Im just wondering if it would be worth it while the head is off to go to the 6 bolt setup. Would the pistons and the crank and stuff go from the 7bolt to the 6bolt or would I need new internals.

What choice do I have. My car is far from operational. I think that dsm stands for Doesnt Stay Moving. Now Im having to spend over 100 bucks for a new head. I was hoping to do the 6bolt switch but I just dont have the money to build up the block. What pieces are in a block anyway. I know that there is the pistons,rods,crank.....but thats all I know for sure.

Internally thats about it, pistons, rods and crank, along with the balance shafts the you'll never put back in. Oil pickup is down there too. You'd basically need a complete 6 bolt bottom to swap it, or piece together the parts. Along with the previous you'd need an oil pump, front cover, the main caps, water pump, oil pan, all the tensioners and gaskets. Not as expensive as you'd think. Just get a used 6-bolt crank, main caps, and rods, and get ross or wiesco pistons, it be a nice motor for not all that much money.

Brent Im sure it will be fine the way it is. Your block wasnt showing any signs of walking or anything so who cares. Jus tmake sure that when you put the head on you use a 1G intake manifold and throttle body as well. You could pick that set up for like 100$ of the trader somewhere.

I just got a 1g intake manifold from ebay for 50. Would you suggest going with the arp studs versus the stock bolts. Does it really make that big of a difference. They have them at summit for like 50bucks for the arp studs.

yes I would do it...and also try to get some moly lube with them as well (just ask when you order them)..
