I was looking on forced performance at the big16g or was thinking maybe 18g because it is cheaper, i showed my friend and he said it was so cheap because starion turbos are differnt is that true? and what is the differnce in them?

Alot more differences in them than you are probably willing to deal with
in order to install it on your car . ;)

I came across a Mitsubishi Starion today, don't know what year it is, and as I was looking at it I found a turbo. I was wandering if the turbo would work on my 92 eclipse w/ a 1.8l. Every mechanic I've talked to say's he doesn't know. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The turbo would, you simply need the exhaust manny. I would search for articles on 1.8 turbo's, there are a couple guys with good tech articles...

well this is for 350 shipped. Another problem is the outlet to the intercooler. It doens't look like it has the elbow connector like stock does. I dont have ic piping yet cuz i dont know if im gonna get a front mount. Any easy solutions.

the turbo is the same shit, all u have to do is change the exhaust housing from ur eclipse onto it,i swapped a conquest turbo 16g into my old talon.jus took the compressor housing and used my exhaust housing from my old turbo

Starion 18g turbo (post #1)

Ok, here's my dilemma. I'm looking at purchasing an 18G turbo from someone, and I've got a couple questions. I know the 18G isn't terribly effficient, but for the price, it's hard to pass up. The guy listed it as an 18G upgrade for a Starion.... it needs a compressor wheel as some fins are bent, but he's willing to go for $100 shipped.

SO... Here are my questions:

Will an 18G that's ment as a Starion upgrade work on a 2g exhaust manifold? I would think that the 14B, 16G, 18G, and 20G turbos would all have the same exhaust flange... but I want to be sure before I buy this thing, only to find that I just bought a $100 paper weight. Realistically, I can't really go wrong, because I could just sell the turbo if it didn't fit and still make a profit, but I'd rather use it for myself.

Any insight would be helpful.

the guy i use for my major work is really big into star quests and they swap 14B's and 16G's with no prob so i wouldn't see any problem with putting an 18G. Good luck with it. Also i am not sure how easy it is to find parts for them i hardly hear of 18g's.

there are several people in my area that are running an 18g now or were running one before they stepped up to something bigger. most were hondas, not dsm,s, but its still the same turbo
it shouldnt be that much of a problem finding parts for one

i'm going to be upgrading my turbo soon and since i'm on a budget i was going to get a 14b. I saw a couple of turbo's from a mitsubishi starion and the chrysler conquest and in the same price range and was wondering how they performed compared to the 14b and how easy they are to adapt to a 2g?

from what a here they are 13g's which perform about the same as a t25

look on ebay for a 14b.

i have a hahn super 16g for 81 bucks on ebay right now 30 dollars shipping. all it needs is a new compressor wheel and rebalancing.

12As on the Staruqest

flows about 325cfm ( I know,, huge joke)

Mitsu really ####ed the conqeust over by putting that knuckle sized turbo on it
