Which way does the gasket btw the TB and intake manifold go?

Yes this is stupid question but I have a major intake leak at the gasket inbetween the TB and intake manifold. The way the gasket is in there now is the little part of the gasket sticks out of the top of the TB on the front side. Is this the right way?

im not sure if it is the same on 2g's and 1g's but on my 2g part of the gasket that sticks out is on the top on the firewall side of the tb.

same here.. that little tab goes on the back side closer to the firewall
