Just bought a '97 Gs-t Spyder. It's completely stock (for now). The acceleration kicks *ss but as I get into higher rpms it seems that more fresh air would really help. I'm thinking of an Injen intake, just wondered if this would show a noticeable difference after the turbo has already spooled, would I feel noticeable acceleration at higher rpms? What are you guys experiences?

yes it would help but the reason your car dies at high RPMS is becuase of the stock T25 turbo, it dies after like 5000rpms

Good point. But a turbo upgrade is not in the near term. What about increasing boost, I'm not sure what they run stock.

turning up the boost would do nothing but blow hot air. try shifting your car at 6000-6250 rpms youll notice that it is a bit difference.

Will do, and that does seem to make sense. I guess I could go with a new downpipe,CC, and cat-back too. I'm dying to do some 5.0 hunting.

The first or second thing you should do is replace your upper intercooler pipe and BOV.

My present mods are like this:

JoeP MBC
Autometer Boost Guage , A/Fgauge
Injen Intake with open air filter

Will make a new UICP these next few days

Is this a good start..? Sounds like a good way to go..am I right?

Yeah you're on the right track. WIth the uicp you'll want to switch to a 1G BOV.
Then turn to the exhaust. A turbo back makes the largest power gains you'll probably ever see for one mod.

and for the money, a good home made MBC(ball and spring type) makes alot of power!
