I installed the Greddy upper intercooler pipe and RS bov on my 2G GS-T (Japaneese) yesterday and I'm having a unsecure feeling about the setup. Car seems to accelerate better, but what bugs me, is that ECU boost gauge never reaches top mark, even though it used to before, with old pipes and BOV. I also noticed that oil is getting pumped through the oil cap quite noticably, but it pretty much wasn't leaking before. The intercooler is same old SMIC. The air filter is stock, with the lower part of the box taken off. I used duct tape to attach filter to the upper side of the box while I wait for the Apexi cone filter. BOV litlle hose is connected to BOV and Intake manifold, nothing else (I didn't used T connectors at all).

Other modifications to car is 2.5'' 5Zigen Fireball exaust. Cat+Catback as far as I know.

BOV is at it's softest setting, right as it was preset from the factory, and it seems to recirculate well.

The coolant temperature is at the same mark it was, oil is 5w40 Castrol TXT. Turbo got redish after excessive driving (10 minutes stop-go, WOT, 0-50mph), but nothing sort of unordinary I think. Idling seems better now, with the new setup. Check engine light never came on during driving or idling.

What steps should I do next. I don't have an aftermarket boost or AFR gauge, but as far as I know BOV isn't supposed to modify boost, only fix the leaks of plastic one. The only gauges I can get here are AutoGauge ones, which are quite unreliable as far as I know.

I was thinking about either getting one of the spark plugs out, or get the car to test the emissions, which might give me an idea of whats going on. The weird behavior of stock boost gauge is giving me the creeps.

Can anyone recommend me something better? Similar experiences?

I could try to upload a picture of the engine bay, but I can't do right now, if there is a need to I will try to later.

I don't even pay attention to the stock boost gauge, because one of the necessary things to get even before getting any mods is a real boost gauge. So get that, and let us know how much you are pushing at when you are hitting full boost.

As always, check for boost leaks. Perhaps your oil cap finally needs to be replaced, just a coincidence that it happened after you put all the mods on. But of course I could be wrong, but also right ;)

Stop doing ghetto crap like using duct tape.

And with your mods, yes it raised the boost. I've owned several stock 2gs and after modifying them with as little as filter and bov, boost will jump to about 15, and cold enough days and proper throttle engagement it spikes close to 20 before settling.

Ther's nuffin that can't be fixed with a good amount of duct tape :D

Anyway, I adjusted my BOV 1/4 turn to hard and seems that car is behaving as it used to now. I will check the cap, but it seems that it's easier to replace it with quality aftermarket one.

The problem I'm facing now is raised intake temperature in stop go traffic :(

Going to order a boost gauge as soon as possible.
